This is as close to a home game as Fargo, North Dakota, native Tom Hoge will get on the PGA Tour.

He looked right at home last year, posting his best finish in three 3M Open appearances. Hoge carded 67-68-66-70 to finish four shots back in T-4th.

"“Yeah, it’s a golf course I played going back to junior and amateur golf, so I felt comfortable here,” Hoge was transcribed by Tee Scripts in 2022. “Just very comfortable in the area. Staying with my wife’s family, so pretty easy week for us. It was just nice to be back and nice to play well again.”"

Hoge thought that was the best he played all year despite falling shy of victory. He was tops in the field in strokes gained approach (2.59) and was second in SG tee-to-green (3.31).

Hoge also logged T-23rd (68-71-65-67) at TPC Twin Cities in 2019.

The former TCU Horned Frog is coming off a missed cut last week at The Open Championship. He’s only missed consecutive cuts once since last summer, so look for him to bounce back in more comfortable climes.

Hoge ranks second on the PGA Tour in average approach proximity from the fairway (29’7”) and is also second in approaches from 200-225 yards (34’6”) and from inside 100 yards (31’1”).

Those stats help him sit fifth in SG approach (.831). He’s truly one of the world’s top ball strikers.

If Hoge can get the other facets of his game humming at the same time, he could start racking up wins in the latter part of his prime at age 34.
