Fantasy Golf: 2023 BMW Championship DFS Player Selections

This week, the PGA Tour travels to Illinois for the 2023 BMW Championship. Let’s take a look at this week’s FedEx Cup playoff event from a fantasy golf perspective.
The 2023 BMW Championship will be played at Olympia Fields Country Club. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,366 yards.
The last time Olympia Fields Country Club hosted the BMW Championship was in 2020. Keep that in mind as you review previous tournament player results for this tournament.
Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Here are my fantasy golf/DFS Player selections for the second event of the 2023 FedEx Cup Playoffs!
2023 BMW Championship DFS Player Selections
Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy arrives at this week’s 2023 BMW Championship on the heels of eight consecutive top-nine finishes on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open last month.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 BMW Championship field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Rory McIlroy ranks second in strokes gained tee to green, second in strokes gained ball striking, sixth in GIR (greens in regulation), and third in birdie or better percentage.
It should also be noted that Rory McIlroy finished 12th at the 2020 BMW Championship.
Patrick Cantlay
Since the beginning of April, Patrick Cantlay has played ten tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those ten events just mentioned, Cantlay has accumulated six Top 14 finishes, including a fourth-place result at the 2023 Travelers Championship in June.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 BMW Championship field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Patrick Cantlay ranks sixth in strokes gained ball striking, fifth in GIR (greens in regulation), and fifth in birdie or better percentage.
Cam Davis
The talented young Australian has accumulated three consecutive top ten finishes on the PGA Tour, including a sixth-place result at last week’s 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 BMW Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Cam Davis ranks fifth in strokes gained tee to green, fifth in bogey avoidance, and first in strokes gained around the green.
Russell Henley
Russell Henley has accumulated six Top 19 finishes in his last eight events played on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2023 Wyndham Championship two weeks ago.
