This week, the DP World Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the 2023 Horizon Irish Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a fantasy golf perspective.

The 2023 Horizon Irish Open will be played at the K Club near Dublin, Ireland. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,350 yards.

The last time this tournament was played at the K Club was in 2016.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite DFS/fantasy golf player selections for this week’s 2023 Horizon Irish Open!

2023 Horizon Irish Open DFS Player Selections

Aaron Rai

Aaron Rai has accumulated four top 24 finishes in his last seven tournaments played (DP World and PGA Tours combined), including a third-place result at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open in June.

It should be noted that Aaron Rai began his professional golf career on the DP World Tour, notching multiple wins along the way, before Rai eventually made the transition to the PGA Tour full-time.

In summary, Aaron Rai is clearly quite comfortable competing on the DP World Tour (based on the data). I fully expect Rai to play well in Ireland this week.

Alexander Bjork

Alexander Bjork arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 14 finishes on the DP World Tour, including a second-place result at last week’s 2023 Omega European Masters.

Bjork also finished 20th at the 2022 Horizon Irish Open.

Thorbjorn Olesen

Thorbjorn Olesen has accumulated five top 25 finishes in his last ten tournaments played on the DP World Tour, including a third-place result at the 2023 Soudal Open in May.

Olesen also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event results. Let me be more specific. Since 2016, Thorbjorn Olesen has played the Irish Open six times. In those six events just noted, Olesen accumulated an impressive four top 15 finishes, including an eighth-place result at the 2022 Horizon Irish Open.

Matt Wallace

Two weeks ago, the talented Englishman fired a final round 67 at the 2023 Real Czech Masters en route to an eventual second-place result.
