This week, the PGA Tour returns to the golf schedule with the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship. Fantasy golf enthusiasts will be presented with a quality field of golfers that includes the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship winner, Mackenzie Hughes.
Let’s take a look at this week’s tournament from a DraftKings/fantasy golf perspective!
The Sanderson Farms Championship will be played at the Country Club of Jackson. This golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,461 yards.
Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Here are my DraftKings/fantasy golf player selections for the Sanderson Farms Championship.
2023 Sanderson Farms Championship DFS Selections
Sam Ryder $8,500
The 33-year-old American arrives at this week’s tournament in rather good form.
Sam Ryder has accumulated two top-14 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a 14th-place result at the 2023 Fortinet Championship.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Sam Ryder ranks first in strokes gained approach, second in strokes gained tee to green, and seventh in total DraftKings points scored.
Kevin Streelman $7,600
Three starts ago, Kevin Streelman fired a first-round 64 at the 2023 3M Open on his way to an eventual second-place finish.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Kevin Streelman ranks sixth in strokes gained tee to green and 13th in strokes gained approach.
It should also be noted that Kevin Streelman has posted quality results at this week’s PGA Tour event multiple times previously.
Since 2016, Kevin Streelman has played the Sanderson Farms Championship six times. In those six tournaments just noted, Streelman accumulated four top-24 finishes, including a tenth-place result at the 2017 Sanderson Farms Championship.
Nick Hardy $7,400
Nick Hardy has accumulated three top-27 finishes in his last six tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 13th-place result at the 2023 3M Open in August.
I also like the fact that Nick Hardy has posted good results at the Country Club of Jackson in the past. Hardy finished second at the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship.
