After a scorching hot late summer stretch of golf, Glover was in contention to earn a captain’s pick from Zach Johnson to make the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
Two wins, including one in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, weren’t quite enough for Glover.
I think he’ll be motivated to play well this week to show he should’ve been in Rome.
Glover has made the cut in five of six appearances at Country Club of Jackson. High water marks came in 2016 when he took T-5th (66-69-68-70) and in 2018 when he took T-14th (68-72-67-69).
He’s a South Carolinian who played his college golf at Clemson. Glover is plenty comfortable on the surfaces in play this week.

Glover led the PGA Tour last season in average proximity to the hole (32’7”). He was also second in fairway proximity (28’10”) and on all approaches inside 100 yards (30’4”).

The 42-year-old had been in the wilderness in recent years with his putter but he’s got the broomstick and unconventional grip going, and it’s working. Glover wasn’t holing out from all over the green in his hot streak, but just finishing in the top third in SG putting is all he really needs considering his elite ball striking.
