Lee Hodges had one of the more dominating wins of the 2022-23 PGA Tour season. The former Alabama Crimson Tide won the 3M Open in July in wire-to-wire fashion for his first career victory. Not only that, but Hodges set a tournament record 72-hole score of 260 and won by seven shots.

There have been some memorable finishes over the years at TPC Twin Cities. This was not one of them.

Hodges was having a solid, if unspectacular, season up to that point. Now, he’s on the cusp of the coveted top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

It also helped him advance to the BMW Championship for the first time in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Hodges ended the season with nine top-25s and three top-10s.

He missed five cuts in a row from the end of 2022 and beginning of 2023. Since then, Hodges has never missed more than two cuts in a row and has gotten a lot more consistent.

The southern boy is used to playing on Bermuda grass. He’s also familiar with the Country Club of Jackson. Hodges took T-45th (72-67-68-71) at the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship and T-30th (70-72-71-67) last year.

Hodges also has high finishes in the southeastern U.S. with T-9th at the 2022 Honda Classic and T-7th at the 2022 CJ Cup at Congaree in South Carolina.

He gained strokes in every category last season except for around-the-green. Hodges was 49th in SG off-the-tee (.25). He was also second in total eagles (15).
