Among the top names in the field, Stephan Jaeger has about as much experience at the Country Club of Jackson as anybody.

The German will be making his seventh Sanderson Farms Championship appearance. He’s made four of six cuts with three top-30s. Jaeger peaked with T-14th (72-70-67-67) in 2018.

"“I’m happy here, I like this golf course, I’ve played decent here before,” Jaeger was transcribed by ASAP Sports in 2021. “I like this area. The greens are unbelievable. So any time you get to know a putt is going in with three feet to go it’s a pretty cool feeling.”"

The 34-year-old University of Tennessee-Chattanooga alum is on an incredible made cuts streak. It’s up to 14 dating all the way back to April. That’s the fourth-longest active streak on the PGA Tour.

The knock on Jaeger is he doesn’t contend enough. That’s valid. With that said, it’s not like he’s playing well on Thursday and Friday and mailing it in on the weekend.

In those 14 tournaments, Jaeger owns nine top-30s, including T-9th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

He’s a guy we know can go low. We saw it when Jaeger posted 58 in a Korn Ferry Tour event in 2016.

We saw it this season as he made a whopping 438 birdies to finish second on the PGA Tour.

Jaeger was 28th in total strokes gained per round (.822) and gained in every category. He was seventh in SG around-the-green (.392).
