With four top-10s in his last five starts, Cam Davis comes to Japan brimming with confidence.

The Aussie’s most recent effort resulted in T-7th at the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas. He carded rounds of 67-67-67-66 to stay within earshot throughout all four rounds and wind up just three off the winning score.

Davis flashed a good overall game by finishing top-40 in every Strokes Gained category. That included sixth in SG: Putting (5.4). He made no double bogeys or worse and just seven bogeys.

Getting the putter hot is a positive sign as it was his worst SG category last season on the PGA Tour. He’s best known for his ball striking prowess, which helped him rank 17th in SG: Off-the-Tee (.514) and 24th in SG: Tee-to-Green (.865)

While the transatlantic flight to Asia isn’t the easiest, he’s well-versed in playing a global game. Not to mention, Davis is likely to still feel refreshed after taking some time off from competition.

"“Yeah, it’s been really nice to take — this is probably the first real off-season I’ve been able to take since I turned pro with the way they planned out the year this year, so very happy that I played the good golf when I did to be able to afford to take some time off, and right now I’ve just been coming off not too much practice, just a lot of time relaxing and spending time with the family,” Davis was transcribed last week by ASAP Sports. “Right now in a good place, and I’m really enjoying golf right now. It always helps to play well, as well.”"

This will be the 28-year-old’s second appearance at the Zozo Championship and Narashino Country Club. Davis debuted here last year with rounds of 70-67-69-69 to take T-29th.

Along with his high finish at the Shriners, Davis ended his summer strong with T-7th at the Wyndham Championship and T-6th at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
