This June, fantasy golf fans will be presented with the 2024 U.S. Open. Let’s take a look at this prestigious event from a fantasy golf/DFS perspective.

The 2024 U.S. Open will be played at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club (Course #2) in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Prior to diving into my early fantasy golf/DraftKings player selections for the 2024 U.S. Open, let’s take a look at a few of the key player statistics of the last two winners of the U.S. Open, relative to the field, the week that golfer won the tournament.

Last Two U.S. Open Winners

2023- Wyndham Clark: Tenth in GIR (greens in regulation-67%), tenth in strokes gained off the tee (1.21), and 12th in driving distance (322.3 yards).

2022-Matt Fitzpatrick: Fifth in driving accuracy (69.64%), ninth in strokes gained approach (6.348), and third in strokes gained off the tee (2.868).

Now let’s shift our attention to my favorite early first-look DFS/fantasy golf player selections for the 2024 U.S. Open!

Scottie Scheffler

The current number-one golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) has accumulated two Top-3 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2023 Hero World Challenge earlier this month.

Scheffler also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event results. Since 2021, Scottie Scheffler has played the United States Open three times. In those tournaments just noted, Scheffler accumulated three top-seven finishes, including a second-place result at the 2022 U.S. Open.

Viktor Hovland

Since the beginning of July, Viktor Hovland has played nine events (DP World and PGA Tours combined). In those nine tournaments just mentioned, Viktor Hovland accumulated an impressive eight Top-25 finishes, including a win at the 2023 BMW Championship in August.

It should also be noted that Viktor Hovland finished 19th at the 2023 U.S. Open.

Tyrrell Hatton

The talented Englishman certainly finished his 2023 season strong. Let me be more specific. In the last four events Tyrrell Hatton played in 2023 (DP World and PGA Tours combined) Hatton accumulated three top-nine finishes, including a second-place result at the 2023 BMW PGA Championship in September.

Tyrrell Hatton also finished sixth at the 2016 U.S. Open.
