2024 Black Desert Championship: Top 10 power rankings at Black Desert Resort

The fall swing continues as the PGA Tour heads to unfamiliar territory this week. Black Desert Resort, hosting its first Tour tournament ever, will be the site of the fall's third event. Players will continue to battle for Tour cards and positioning this week in Utah.

8) Ben Griffin

Griffin will be a staple on this list all fall and deservingly so.

He was a popular pick to win last week due to his love for the CC of Jackson but finished with a modest T37. Griffin's irons, his bread and butter, seemed to be in neutral all week.

The course fit is suspect this week -- his driver is the weakest club in his bag -- as he ranks 134th in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee. However, three top-seven finishes since June show just how capable his game is.

7) Ryan Fox

Golf in the U.S. isn't for everyone. The 37-year-old rookie said he felt like he was playing "catch up a lot of the year." Fox earned his tour card through the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai, where he finished second in the standings.

Fox is a New Zealander through and through and played seven years across the pond in Europe. A four-time DP World Tour winner, Fox's win in 2022 was perhaps his most memorable, coming after the death of his friend and Australian cricket legend Shane Warne.

His 2024 season, as he mentioned, has been a difficult transition. With just three top tens, he currently sits at 102nd in the standings. A T11 at the Sanderson Farms Championship last week came right on cue, as the top 125 players retain their cards for the following season.

Even at 37, Fox still ranks in the top 35 in driving distance -- a testament to his absurdly powerful golf swing. As a result, he ranks second to last on Tour in driving accuracy, hitting exactly 50% of fairways.

His glaring weakness has always been his short game, but I don't see it being an issue this week. Many of the greens are abnormally large, so he should not have to rely on his chipping much. The putter was hot last week; if it stays hot, he could be in store for another high finish.
