2024 Black Desert Championship: Top 10 power rankings at Black Desert Resort

The fall swing continues as the PGA Tour heads to unfamiliar territory this week. Black Desert Resort, hosting its first Tour tournament ever, will be the site of the fall's third event. Players will continue to battle for Tour cards and positioning this week in Utah.

6) Beau Hossler

It was utter heartbreak for Hossler last week, who lost in a playoff to Kevin Yu. The University of Texas grad had the perfect opportunity to grab his first PGA Tour victory since 2019, but let it slip away with a mediocre even par 36 on the back nine.

Hossler is volatile, especially with the putter, but his ceiling is absolutely good enough to win on Tour, even if he has not shown it recently.

He has gained at least 1.5 strokes on the field six times this season and is coming off his best performance of the season. The 29-year-old can rack up birdies in a hurry, so a shootout environment should suit his style.

That first victory has eluded him for eight years. With a weaker field in the fall circuit, he will not have a better opportunity to conquer his demons than in the next six events.

5) Patton Kizzire

Lebron will often do this thing where he will pull up from 35 feet when he feels like he can't miss. The kids call it a heat check.

I'm not sure what the 1:1 golf equivalent to that would be, but Kizzire seems to be the closest thing to a heat check at the moment.

His wire-to-wire win in Napa was a special display of golf, but many (me included) played devil's advocate and questioned if it was just a hot putting week. A T11 last week quelled any doubts.

The 38-year-old sits at 71st in the rankings, and he surely is hungry to break into the Aon Next 10.
