6) Seamus Power

Steady, steady, steady goes the Irishman. Power continues to surge, proving that the hip injury is fully past him. His last four events have yielded finishes of T10-T26-T11-T11.

It's hard not to like where his game is at right now -- every aspect is trending upward. Last week marked the sixth straight performance in which he gained strokes overall.

At 52nd in the standings, he figures to find himself playing in two early-season Signature Events, but he is hungry, and anything but a win in the final five events will be disappointing. His best finish at TPC Summerlin is a T21 in 2021. The odds are in his favor of that changing this week.

5) Tom Hoge

Hoge's decision to play this week is admirable. He is one of two players in this field who made the Tour Championship, so he is not playing this fall swing to fight for positioning, as the majority of the field is.

Ask any player on Tour who the most underrated iron player is, and most will say Tom Hoge. Just ask Sahith Theegala.

Many stats adequately represent Hoge's ball-striking prowess: he sits third on Tour in strokes gained on approach shots. But the most compelling one is that he leads the Tour in rounds in red figures with 64 -- a testament to his consistency.

Hoge played in the fall's first event, the Procore, finishing T7. The majority of approach shots at TPC Summerlin come within 175 yards. In other words, Hoge is salivating. He nearly won this event in 2022, so in a weaker field than he is used to seeing, he should thrive.

Whispers only the flatstick stands in his way.
