2024 Zozo Championship: Top 10 power rankings at Narashino CC

Golf in Japan! Players will make the trek to Tokyo this week for the 2024 Zozo Championship, with much to play for. It is a special week for Hideki Matsuyama, Takumi Kanaya, Kensei Hirata, and the other Japanese players in the field. They will be playing for something more meaningful and unquantifiable: honor.

8) Beau Hossler

"The Beau Show" has been alive and well this fall with another solid T23 last week in Vegas. Following his playoff loss at the Sanderson Farms Championship, Hossler took to Instagram to share that he "loved getting to feel the feels again."

He has gained at least 1.3 strokes in total in his last three events, and now he returns to a place that has been kind to him. At Narashino, Hossler has a T16 and a T2 in as many trips.

The Texas grad may still be reeling from his Longhorns defeat to Georgia last Saturday night, but all signs point to another week in contention for Hossler.

7) Justin Thomas

JT's career was at a crossroads, following a miserable 2023 that saw him miss the FedEx Cup Playoffs. A resurgent 2024 was essential for the future of his career.

He has not teed it up since a T14 at the Tour Championship, and it is fitting that he makes his return at a venue that forces players to work the ball from right to left and vice versa. Thomas has long talked about how he sees certain shots differently than others -- one's stock draw is his nasty sling cut. Narashino requires creativity and artistry, and no one appreciates the latter like the maestro himself.

His struggles on the greens have been well-documented and are the sole reason he is still searching for that first win since 2022. It has been odd not seeing Thomas or Spieth's names at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday in recent years, so perhaps we get a nostalgic performance this week from the Louisville native.
