With a PGA Tour Signature Event comes a loaded field, and the 2025 edition of the Arnold Palmer Invitational is certainly not short on star power.
Of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, 45 are set to tee it up at Bay Hill Club & Lodge this week, including nine of the top 10, the lone exception being LIV Golf star and 2020 champion Tyrrell Hatton (No. 9).
The headliner of this stacked 72-player field, of course, is world No. 1 and defending champion Scottie Scheffler, who cruised to a five-shot victory a year ago to capture his second API title in three years.
Unsurprisingly, Scheffler will head into Thursday's opening round as the heavy betting favorite with +300 odds (a $100 wager earns $300 plus the original stake) at DraftKings. With a win, the two-time Masters champ would become just the second player to notch three victories at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Tiger Woods still holds a commanding lead with a ridiculous eight wins at Bay Hill.
The second-shortest odds belong to second-ranked Rory McIlroy (+750), who also has a strong track record at this event, recording six top-10 finishes in 10 starts, including a win in 2018. In those 10 starts, the 27-time PGA Tour winner has never missed the cut and has only finished outside the top 13 twice.
World No. 3 Xander Schauffele, who returns after a two-month hiatus due to a rib injury, and fourth-ranked Ludvig Aberg, who's coming off a dramatic come-from-behind win at The Genesis Invitational, are tied for the third-shortest odds at +1600, while fifth-ranked Collin Morikawa rounds out the top five at +2000.
