The PGA Tour returns to Cromwell, Connecticut, this week for the annual playing of the Travelers Championship, which, for the third season in a row, wraps up the Signature Event portion of the schedule.

After beginning in January at The Sentry, the Travelers will mark the eighth and final Signature Event of the season.

Like the RBC Heritage in April, the Travelers comes the week after a major championship. And despite coming off a grueling week of grinding it out at Oakmont Country Club during the U.S. Open, the vast majority of the most high-profile PGA Tour players will be in action this week at TPC River Highlands.

Headlining the field is world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who, after successfully defending his title at the Memorial Tournament a few weeks ago, returns to Connecticut with similar aspirations. Scheffler won here in a playoff last year, defeating Tom Kim on the first extra hole.

The entire top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking will tee it up in the final Signature Event of the year, including Rory McIlroy, 2022 Travelers winner Xander Schauffele, and, of course, newly crowned major champion and new world No. 8 J.J. Spaun.

An elite field will take on one of the shortest courses on the schedule, as the par-70 layout at TPC River Highlands plays less than 6,900 yards on the scorecard. As such, this tournament typically produces a lot of birdies. So, we should be in for a fun week in New England.

Let's have a look at a few players who could be set up for success at the 2025 Travelers Championship.

2025 Travelers Championship picks and predictions

Top 20 pick for the Travelers Championship: Cameron Young (+140)

Asking Cameron Young to pick up his first PGA Tour win in a Signature Event may be a reach, but the talented 28-year-old is a perfect pick to notch another top-20 finish.

Young has finished 25th or better in four of his last five starts on the PGA Tour, including consecutive T4 finishes, first at the RBC Canadian Open and then the U.S. Open. He also finished T9 at last year's Travelers Championship and is one of the best putters in this week's field, ranking third over his last 20 rounds, per Data Golf.

If Young can stay hot on the greens and dial in his approach play, he should contend again this week.

Sleeper pick to win the Travelers Championship: Russell Henley (+4000)

A winner at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Russell Henley is one of seven looking to become the only player to win multiple Signature Events this year.

Henley enters the Travelers Championship in good form, having tied for fifth at the Memorial and 10th at the U.S. Open. His best finishes at the Travelers include a tie for sixth in 2018, a T11 in 2016, and a pair of T19s in 2021 and 2023.

TPC River Highlands should set up well for Henley, who's one of the best in the field with his approach play.

Pick to win the Travelers Championship: Justin Thomas (+2500)

Another player who comes into this week's Travelers Championship looking for a second win in a Signature Event this season is Justin Thomas.

Thomas beat an elite field at the RBC Heritage in April, notching his first win since his victory at the PGA Championship in 2022.

He struggled at the U.S. Open last week, missing the cut, but has finished T9 and T5 at the Travelers Championship in his last two starts, respectively. Thomas ranks 15th or better in approach and putting on the PGA Tour this season, a recipe for success at a venue like TPC River Highlands.

Pick to win the Travelers Championship: Collin Morikawa (+1800)

A top-25 finish at the U.S. Open marked Collin Morikawa's ninth of the season, and despite not having won yet, things are trending in the right direction for the two-time major champion.

TPC River Highlands is a venue that should set up well for Morikawa, who tied for 13th here a year ago. The 28-year-old gained a whopping three strokes on approach last week at Oakmont, so if he can just get a few putts to drop this week, he should contend at the Travelers Championship.
