By default, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans is the most unique tournament on the PGA Tour schedule, as it's the only team event.

First played in 1938 and a regular stop on the PGA Tour since 1958, the Zurich didn't always utilize the team structure, as it was played as a regular 72-hole stroke-play event through the 2016 edition.

It's certainly not the most high-profile tourney on the calendar, but it's certainly entertaining enough, and it got a big boost a season ago when Rory McIlroy added it to his schedule, ultimately winning the event in a playoff with longtime friend and fellow major champion Shane Lowry.

McIlroy and Lowry returned for the 2025 edition and have once again put themselves in position to take the title at TPC Louisiana. But they'll certainly have to work during Sunday's alternate-shot final round to repeat, as they're five shots out of the lead, even after posting a third-round 61 on Saturday to get to 22-under for the week.

Also posting 61 was the team of Ben Griffin and Andrew Novak, the latter, of course, losing in a playoff last week to Justin Thomas at the RBC Heritage.

Novak and Griffin enter the final round at 27-under and hold a three-stroke lead over Jake Knapp/Frankie Capan III and Ryo Hisatsune/Takumi Kanaya.

The Højgaard twins, Rasmus and Nicolai, and the team of Isaiah Salindo and Kevin Velo sit tied for fourth at 23-under.

So, we're in for an entertaining Sunday.
