The PGA Tour returns to Japan for the 2026 Baycurrent Classic. The third of eight events on the fall schedule, the Baycurrent Classic, formerly the ZOZO Championship, will be played for the eighth time after making its debut in 2019.
Contested at Narashino Country Club for five of the first six editions, the Baycurrent Classic was held at Yokohama Country Club for the first time last year. Yokohama Country Club (Par 71, 7,322 yards), located in Kanagawa, Japan, roughly twenty miles from Tokyo, features a unique blend of two par-5s, three par-3s, and thirteen par-4s.
This week's event boasts arguably one of the strongest fields of the fall, with two-time major winner and defending champion Xander Schauffele, joined by fellow ZOZO Championship winners Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa, and Keegan Bradley. 2026 U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark, Justin Thomas, Adam Scott, and Rickie Fowler are just a few of the other notables who are set to tee it up. The 72-man field will also feature a handful of players who competed in the recent Presidents Cup.
Who will shine on the global stage in the first of four international events on the schedule this FedExCup Fall? Let's get into some picks and predictions for the 2026 Baycurrent Classic.
2026 Baycurrent Classic picks and predictions
Sleeper pick for the Baycurrent Classic: Max Greyserman (+6500)
Greyserman returns to Japan for a third consecutive season, having narrowly fallen short of that elusive first career win on his last two visits. A runner-up at the 2024 ZOZO Championship, Greyserman also finished one shot adrift of eventual winner Xander Schauffele at last year's Baycurrent Classic. He fell one shot shy of making the cut in Utah in his most recent start, but before that, Greyserman finished tied for 10th in his first event of the fall at the Biltmore Championship Asheville.
Pick to win the Baycurrent Classic: Michael Brennan (+3000)
Coming off a win and a top-10 finish in two of his previous three starts, Brennan made a strong start to the fall, finishing tied for 13th in his title defense at the Bank of Utah Championship. He'll look to carry the momentum into his Baycurrent Classic debut. Winner at the Wyndham Championship in August, Brennan ranks 12th or better in the field, per Data Golf, in SG: Off the Tee, Approach, and Putting over the last three months.
Pick to win the Baycurrent Classic: Michael Thorbjornsen (+2800)
After securing his first career PGA Tour win this summer at the Rocket Classic, Thorbjornsen returns to the Yokohama Country Club fresh off a third-place finish at the 2025 Baycurrent Classic. He'll make his first start of the fall after a strong season that included the win, two top-5s, and seven top-20 finishes in 22 starts.
Top 20 in the field in both driving distance and accuracy, Thorbjornsen ranks third in total SG: tee to green over the last three months. With a win under his belt, it won't be a surprise to see the talented 25-year-old contending regularly moving forward.
Pick to win the Baycurrent Classic: Wyndham Clark (+1500)
Coming off a T21 finish in his first Tour Championship since the 2024 season, Clark had a strong showing at the Presidents Cup despite a 1-4-0 overall record. Third in the field in total strokes gained for the week at Medinah, the 2026 U.S. Open winner picked up where he left off this season. A three-time winner in 2026, he returns to the Baycurrent Classic where he finished tied for 48th in 2025. Clark ranks number one in the field in total strokes gained over the last six months.
