The Genesis Scottish Open welcomes a star-studded field to Scotland for the final event ahead of the year's final major.

On the eve of the 154th Open Championship, arguably one of the strongest fields of the year will tee it up at The Renaissance Club (Par-70, 7,282 yards) in North Berwick, Scotland.

The Tom Doak design will host the PGA and DP World Tour co-sanctioned event for an eighth time with this year's champion looking to join an impressive list of winners at The Renaissance Club, including Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Scotland's Bob MacIntyre, PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai, and defending Genesis Scottish Open champion Chris Gotterup, all of whom are set to tee it up once again this week.

In addition to the aforementioned list of former winners, the 156-man field teeing it up at the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open also includes world No.1 Scottie Scheffler, two-time major winner Jon Rahm, Matt Fitzpatrick, Viktor Hovland, and 2026 U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark, to name a few.

With last-minute preparations ahead of the final major championship of the year well and truly underway, who will take a great deal of momentum to Royal Birkdale next week? Let's get into the picks and predictions for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open.

2026 Genesis Scottish Open picks and predictions

Top 20 pick for the Genesis Scottish Open: Tyrrell Hatton (+134)

Hatton is one of several LIV golfers competing in the co-sanctioned Genesis Scottish Open, and he returns to The Renaissance Club for the first time since 2023. A winner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland, Tyrrell has also had success at The Renaissance Club, tying for sixth in 2023 and finishing T24 at the 2022 Scottish Open. He comes in with good form with a T7 and a win in his last two starts.

Sleeper pick for the Genesis Scottish Open: Tom Kim (+8600)

Third at the Genesis Scottish Open in 2022, Kim has fared well on previous visits to The Renaissance Club, with four top-20 finishes in his last four starts here, including two top-six finishes. Ranked 10th in the field in strokes gained: approach over his last twenty rounds, per Data Golf, Tom returns to the Scottish Open having finished T15 (RBC Canadian Open) and third (U.S. Open) in two of his last three competitive starts.

Pick to win the Genesis Scottish Open: Nicolai Hojgaard (+4800)

Excelling with distance off the tee has proven to be a recipe for success at The Renaissance Club. Nicolai Hojgaard has that skill set, ranking third in the field in driving distance over the last 20 rounds and 10th over the last six months. He wasn't in the best form coming into the Travelers Championship but seemed to have found something at TPC River Highlands en route to a T14 finish in his most recent start. Nicolai has finished tied for sixth or better in two of his last three starts at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Pick to win the Genesis Scottish Open: Matt Fitzpatrick (+2100)

A three-time winner this year so far, Fitzpatrick will look to add a fourth win in 2026 at the Genesis Scottish Open to go along with his victories at the Valspar, RBC Heritage, and Zurich Classic. Ranked second in the field to only Scottie Scheffler in strokes gained from tee to green over the last 20 rounds, Matt returns to The Renaissance Club fresh off another runner-up finish at the RBC Canadian Open and tying for fourth at the Travelers in two of his last three starts. He finished tied for fourth at the Scottish Open last year and was T6 here in 2022.
