As each month passes, the world of YouTube golf grows exponentially in popularity. For example, current LIV Golf star and two-time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau has leaned into this world and has accumulated over 2.75 million followers.

During his last round with the Bob Does Sports crew, he even threw out the idea of making YouTube his sole golfing career at some point. Both professionals and content creators are taking notice of this extremely popular trend, and everyone is trying to capitalize on it.

Results of the 2025 Internet Invitational

The biggest golf YouTube video of 2025 was the Internet Invitational hosted by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports. This tournament was broadcast over six episodes and accumulated over 30 million views. The quality of golf was not what made this event worth watching, although there was some extremely impressive play from a few participants. The high-profile individuals, along with the massive amounts of drama, were what the viewers craved during these episodes.

Not all participants in the 2025 Internet Invitational were YouTube golfers. Former NFL coach Jon Gruden and comedian Andrew Santino helped to fill out the roster. Major drama occurred early in the match when Luke Kwon overslept and missed his tee time.

Barstool owner Dave Portnoy ultimately suspended Kwon for four holes, causing his partner to lose the match and ultimately leading to the downfall of his entire team. This controversy dominated the highlights for the first day and caused major chaos among his fans on the internet.

Each day, the field would shrink, which ultimately led to a match between Brad Dalke, Cody "Beef" Franke, and Francis Ellis versus Paige Spiranac, Malosi, and Frankie Borelli for the one-million-dollar grand prize. More drama ensued in the final round, as Spiranac was accused of cheating by stomping down grass, improving her teammate's lie. That drama was later overshadowed by Malosi's infamous slope scandal. Dalke's team ended up winning, much to his individual effort.

2026 Internet Invitational roster (...so far)

Tournament organizers Dave Portnoy and Robert Berger seem to be intentionally trying to lean into the drama aspect of the tournament with some of their selections. There are a good number of returning players from the inaugural tournament. Some of the confirmed creators and golf personalities include the boys from Bob Does Sports, Luke Kwon, Garrett Clark, Brad Dalke, Rick Shiels, and Peter Finch. Both Malosi and Spiranac will also be returning despite the backlash they received last year.

Former NBA star Jason Williams has made the cut after expressing interest on his podcast. He was one of the most electric players in the NBA during his era, and it will be interesting to see what he brings to the course. UFC superstar Justin Gaethje has also confirmed that he will be playing, while WNBA star Caitlin Clark has allegedly said yes, but there may be scheduling issues. Dude Perfect's Tyler Toney will be bringing their loyal fanbase's viewership to this tournament as well.

Portnoy has revealed that the grand prize this year has been increased to four million dollars. It has not been confirmed yet whether the tournament's format will remain the same. As this tournament is scheduled to be played in October, more names will be revealed on who will be participating. Needless to say, there will not be a lack of drama or entertainment in this year's Internet Invitational.
