The Arnold Palmer Invitational is the fourth of eight Signature Events on the 2025 PGA Tour calendar and despite its spot on the schedule—one week before The Players Championship—golf fans have been treated to some fantastic (and challenging) golf at a historic venue.
While all eyes may have been on defending champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, others emerged early on at this year's API, suggesting that a new champion could be crowned.
Last year's runner-up, Wyndham Clark, and another familiar name, Shane Lowry, made moves over the first two days, but their time at the top of the leaderboard was short-lived, as both struggled on Moving Day while others made a charge. None more so than Collin Morikawa, whose 5-under 67 during the third round put the two-time major winner in the 54-hole lead.
Morikawa, in search of his first win since the 2023 ZOZO Championship, will need to hold off several others who found themselves within a few shots of his lead going into the final round, however, if he hoped to claim one of the most coveted titles of the year.
With Russell Henley, Corey Conners, and Jason Day all in hot pursuit, it's shaping up to be an exciting finish at this year's API.
Let's take a look at the total purse, the winner's prize money, and the complete payout distribution breakdown by finishing position
Arnold Palmer Invitational purse 2025: Total purse and winner's prize money
The purse for the year's fourth Signature Event is set at a whopping $20 million, with the champion at Arnie's Place set to take home a massive $4 million winner's share.
This matches the enormous amounts of prize money divvied out at Signature Events this season and marks the third year in a row that the Arnold Palmer Invitational will feature a $20 million prize.
That's an increase of $8 million from the 2022 purse, with the winner's share nearly doubling in size from the $2.16 million Scottie Scheffler collected after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational for the first time a few years ago.

In addition to the eye-opening $4 million winner's share, here is a look at the complete prize money breakdown by finishing position for each of the 50 professional players who made the cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Fifty-one players made the weekend, of course, but Jackson Koivun won't receive a payout due to his amateur status.

In addition to earning a massive winner's share of the 2025 API prize purse, along with all of the other perks that come with winning an event of this stature, the champion will also be awarded a valuable 700 FedEx Cup points in the season-long race to East Lake and the 2025 Tour Championship.
