Monday night kicked off an important stretch of games for the TGL. At this point, every team is still very much in the playoff hunt, which makes these next handful of games very exciting to watch. Monday featured teams that are all currently on top of the standings and have the highest probability of making the playoffs.

Atlanta Drive GC vs Boston Common Golf

Atlanta began the first of its two matches of the evening by sending out their "A" team that included Chris Gotterup, Patrick Cantlay, and for the first time this year, Justin Thomas. Boston responded with a group that has seen a good amount of TGL action this year: Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, and Michael Thorbjornsen.

Triples

Atlanta delivered a strong performance across the board, with all three players contributing, including Justin Thomas, who showed little signs of rust. Atlanta struck first on the second hole by throwing a Hammer after a rare error by McIlroy. On the fourth hole, Keegan Bradley hit a 3-wood into the penalty area, gifting Atlanta yet another point.

Bradley redeemed himself on the sixth hole by making a 10-foot birdie putt to give Boston their first point of the match. Atlanta and Boston then split points on the last two holes of the Triples portion of play to give Atlanta a 3-2 advantage heading into intermission.

Singles

With a one-point margin and multiple Hammers available for each team, this match was as close as we have seen at this point of the year. On the 10th hole, Gotterup capitalized on McIlroy’s three-putt, calmly converting a five-foot birdie to seize the opportunity. Thomas, Bradley, Cantlay and Thorbjornsen all tied the next two holes with pars.

Trailing by two with three holes to play, McIlroy hit a 7-iron into the penalty area resulting in another point for Gotterup. Atlanta was able to fend off two Hammers on the last two holes and ended up winning the match 5-2. This was the worst that we have seen Boston and specifically McIlroy play this year. Atlanta showed why they are a favorite to repeat as champions with their solid play and lack of mistakes.

Los Angeles Golf Club vs Atlanta Drive GC

Los Angeles entered the match in a must-win situation, needing a victory to keep control of its own destiny in the playoff race. As a result, they sent out three golfers who are on a hot start to 2026: Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Tommy Fleetwood. Atlanta kept the ever-exciting Patrick Cantlay in the lineup but replaced Thomas and Gotterup with Lucas Glover and Billy Horschel.

Triples

Los Angeles began the match loose and hot. In the pre-match interview, we saw Rose and Fleetwood throwing tees at Morikawa, who was laughing and trying to keep his composure. Their team chemistry carried them in this match as they won the first three holes with clutch putts made by Morikawa and Fleetwood.

The final four holes were halved, with Los Angeles capitalizing on every Atlanta misstep to maintain its edge. This match lacked the competitive intensity that defined the opener. Glover was not on his game at all, and while Cantlay played steady golf the entire evening, it was not enough to overcome Los Angeles. A lighthearted moment came from Billy Horschel (who seems to have the only personality on the team) when he jokingly tossed his club into the air, accidentally hitting Collin Morikawa before the two engaged in a playful scuffle.

Singles

Los Angeles held a 5-2 lead heading into the Singles portion of play although it felt much larger than just the three points. On hole 11, Fleetwood chipped in from off the green halving the hole with Cantlay after Atlanta thought they were going to have a point. The defending champions then received a point off of a Hammer throw after Los Angeles wisely declined it so as not to risk the two points.

The final dagger came on hole 14 after Cantlay missed his birdie putt. LAGC threw a Hammer with Fleetwood only having an eight-foot putt left for birdie. He sank the putt, ending any hope for a last-hole heroic chance by Glover. Los Angeles vaulted up to second in the standings with a 7-3 victory.
