While Patrick Reed has won several team titles as part of Dustin Johnson's 4Aces GC since leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf in 2022, he came to this week's event in suburban Dallas never having tasted victory on the individual side of things.
But that all changed on Sunday at Maridoe Golf Club, as the San Antonio native emerged victorious in a four-man playoff, defeating Jinichiro Kozuma, Paul Casey, and Louis Oosthuizen with a birdie on the first extra hole, thus saving himself the embarrassment of having to take a loss after blowing a five-shot lead in regulation.

A nine-time winner on the PGA Tour before making the jump to the Saudi-backed circuit, Reed had never hoisted a trophy in his home state—at least not at the professional level—and he was clearly thrilled about finally making that happen.
"I think the biggest relief is finally winning in my home state,” said the 2018 Masters champ following his victory. "They popped that news to me that I haven't won in Texas, so to finally get that done meant a lot. Obviously, to get my first win here, part of LIV, meant so much to me."
With the victory, Reed collected the $4 million winner's share of the $20 million individual purse and picked up an additional $375,000, as 4Aces GC took solo second in the team competition, albeit a distant second, losing by 11 shots to Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers GC.
