Gaby López is turning heads on the LPGA Tour

Don't look know, but Gaby López has finished inside the top 10 in each of the last two LPGA Tour events.

A season ago, three-time LPGA Tour winner Gaby López finished in 61st place in the Race to the CME Globe, thus leaving her one spot shy of qualifying for the season-ending Tour Championship.

But in the early weeks of this 2025 season, the 31-year-old has clearly left that disappointment in the past, as she's been one of the steadiest players on tour thus far and seems determined not to fall short this year.

López has played solid golf thus far, making the cut in each of her first four starts and recording top-10 finishes the last two weeks.

Coming off a T-4 finish at the HSBC Women's World Championship, a result that vaulted her from No. 77 to No. 59 in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings, the Mexico City native averaged four birdies per round this past weekend at the Blue Bay LPGA in China.

López showed steady form throughout the tourney and tied for eighth at the event, where she recorded her first LPGA Tour win seven years ago.

"I feel that overall, it's been clicking," she said of her play following the second round. "I've been working really hard on my short game, putting, driving the golf ball, so I think everything has been very solid. Couple of mistakes here and there, but in really tough conditions, you got to accept you're"I've" going to make mistakes."

Gaby López currently ranks 16th in the Race to the CME Globe standings

López has started each of her four tournaments strongly, boasting a scoring average of 69.75 in Round 1, compared to 70.83 a year ago.

She has also improved immensely in greens from fairway percentage, going from 71.76% in 2024 to 80.14% in 2025. If she continues to work on her game and improves even further in both categories, the rest of the LPGA Tour could be in trouble.

Both of her recent top 10s show what she's capable of, and she's put herself in a good spot to start the season, currently ranking 16th in the Race to the CME Globe standings and 13th on the money list. And she's looking to accomplish more throughout the year.

"Just keeping my game plan," said López at the Blue Bay. "Just being able to maintain my bubble. Having that concentration and that game plan with my caddie has been really fun. Happy to see all the hard work paid off."

López has not won on the LPGA Tour since September 2022, her last victory coming at that season's Dana Open. But if she continues her strong push with the driver and the putter, she should once again be lifting a trophy by season's end.
