Hero World Challenge tee times, format, field, purse, how to watch
With the FedEx Cup Fall officially in the rearview mirror and the 2025 season on the near horizon, the 2024 Hero World Challenge welcomes an elite 20-man field for the Tiger Woods-hosted event in The Bahamas.
An unofficial staple on the PGA Tour schedule, the Hero World Challenge has welcomed some of the best players in professional golf since its inaugural edition in 2000. Following many years at Sherwood Country Club in California, the event moved to The Bahamas in 2015 and has been held at Albany every year since; albeit the tournament was canceled in 2020 during the pandemic.
World No.1 and defending Hero World Challenge champion, Scottie Scheffler, headlines this year's elite 20-man field which includes eight of the current top 20 OWGR-ranked players. Unfortunately, tournament host Tiger Woods will not tee it up this week as he continues to recover from back surgery that he had in September. Woods, a five-time Hero World Challenge champion, teed it up at last year's event in The Bahamas that was won by Scheffler. Tiger, however, would go on to make just four other starts this year before undergoing his most recent surgery in September.
While not teeing it up at this year's event at Albany GC, Tiger Woods will still be in attendance as tournament host as he welcomes defending champion Scottie Scheffler, Ludvig Aberg, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, and a host of others for the 25th edition of the Hero World Challenge. From tee times, to how to watch all of the action from this week's event in the beautiful Bahamas, here is a look at all of the information to know ahead of the 2024 Hero World Challenge.
2024 Hero World Challenge tee times and field
Here is a look at the complete 20-man field for the 2024 Hero World Challenge.
Last week Tiger Woods announced three tournament exemptions for Justin Thomas, Jason Day, and Nick Dunlap. Dunlap joins the field following an extraordinary season during which he won The American Express as an amateur before going on to win at the Barracuda Championship in July to become the first player in PGA Tour history to win both as an amateur and a professional in the same year. Sepp Straka was a late addition to the field following Tony Finau's withdrawal on Monday.

Hero World Challenge format, purse, prize money
The Hero World Challenge is a 72-hole stroke play event with no cut. Much like the majority of signature events on the PGA Tour last season, the Hero World Challenge does not implement a cut after 36 holes. This is understandable with the events' limited field size.
The purse for the 2024 Hero World Challenge is set at $5 million with the winner of this year's event in the Bahamas set to take home a winner's share of $1 million. This marks the third consecutive year that the Hero World Challenge has seen its prize purse increase, up from $4.5 million (2023) and $3.5 million (2022) in previous years. This is less than the majority of prize purses divvied out at full-field events on the PGA Tour these days, yet, when you account for the fact that there are only 20 players in the field, every player at the Hero World Challenge is set to take home a substantial payday.
