Will History Repeat Itself in 2025 Men's Majors?

All four of this year's men's major venues have the opportunity to see a former champion win at the locale on back-to-back occasions. Will history repeat itself in the 2025 men's golf majors?

89th Masters Tournament

The Masters, as always, will be hosted at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, April 10th - 13th. This is the 89th Masters and it continues to reign as one of the greatest traditions in all of sports.

2024 Masters winner: Scottie Scheffler

Can Scottie continue his dominance by winning a third green jacket in 2025?

107th PGA Championship

The PGA Championship will be hosted at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, May 15th - 18th. The 107th PGA Championship will be held at Quail Hollow for a second time. After hosting the major in 2017, Quail Hollow hosted the 2022 Presidents Cup. Both tournaments were highly entertaining and I fully expect more of the same for this year’s PGA Championship.

2024 PGA Championship winner: Xander Schauffele

Last PGA Championship winner at Quail Hollow: Justin Thomas (2017)

Considering Justin Thomas took home wins from Quail Hollow in both 2017 and 2022, will this be his year to get back to winning majors?

125th U.S. Open

The U.S. Open will be hosted at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, June 12th - 15th. This will be the 125th U.S. Open and Oakmont's 10th time hosting the U.S. Open, making it the most frequent flyer for the USGA.

2024 U.S. Open winner: Bryson DeChambeau

Last U.S. Open winner at Oakmont: Dustin Johnson (2016)

After just barely missing the cut in 2024, can Dustin Johnson get revenge by adding another title under his belt?

The 153rd Open Championship

The Open Championship will be hosted at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Portrush, Northern Ireland, July 17th - 20th. This is the 153rd Open Championship and only the third time in Portrush. The first being in 1951, then nearly a 70 year gap to 2019, where the Irish weather reminded us just how fickle it can be.

2024 Open Championship winner: Xander Schauffele

Last Open Championship winner at Royal Portrush: Shane Lowry (2019)

A little wind and rain shouldn't be a problem for Shane Lowry, the Irish native. Will he be able to weather the storm for another career-defining win this year?
