How much money do TGL players make?

The money available for players to win in the TGL is roughly the equivalent of the purse in a PGA Tour Signature Event.

As the TGL — which stands for TMRW Golf League, by the way — features 24 of the most high-profile golfers on the planet, it's only natural to wonder how much money these PGA Tour superstars are making for their participation in the simulated series.

And for those who may not be aware which 24 players make up the six teams, here's a quick look at the entire TGL roster.

Atlanta Drive GC

  • Patrick Cantlay
  • Lucas Glover
  • Billy Horschel
  • Justin Thomas

Boston Common Golf

  • Keegan Bradley
  • Hideki Matsuyama
  • Rory McIlroy
  • Adam Scott

The Bay Golf Club

  • Ludvig Aberg
  • Wyndham Clark
  • Shane Lowry
  • Min Woo Lee

Jupiter Links Golf Club

  • Max Homa
  • Tom Kim
  • Kevin Kisner
  • Tiger Woods

Los Angeles Golf Club

  • Tommy Fleetwood
  • Collin Morikawa
  • Justin Rose
  • Sahith Theegala

New York Golf Club

  • Matt Fitzpatrick
  • Rickie Fowler
  • Xander Schauffele
  • Cameron Young

Now, the exact amount each player collects is difficult to calculate in one instance, as all 24 players share a 10% equity stake in the league. So, unless you're tracking the financials of the TGL — which we're not — the exact figure each member makes is effectively unknown.

As for the playing purse, however, that's quite simple.

The TGL season features a total purse of $21 million

Per TMRW Sports CEO Mike McCarley, who co-founded the organization with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, the total purse for the inaugural TGL season is $21 million, with the winning team of the SoFi Cup collecting $9 million, which comes out to $2.25 million per player.

The second-place team splits $4.5 million, third place takes home $2.25 million, fourth place earns $2 million, fifth place makes $1.75 million, and sixth place receives $1.5 million.

Position

Team Total

Per Player Total

1

$9,000,000

$2,250,000

2

$4,500,000

$1,125,000

3

$2,250,000

$562,500

4

$2,000,000

$500,000

5

$1,750,000

$437,500

6

$1,500,000

$375,000

So, as you can see, even those players on the last-place team still get a $375,000 check, plus whatever they're making as part-owners.
