If you are new to golf and want to learn about the game and perhaps have a little fun, then the YouTube world of golf is a great place to start. Whether you are an amateur or a pro, you will find plenty of content tailored to your interests.

The golf purists have many negative remarks about this growing brand. However, it would be wise for the PGA Tour to lean into this and use these groups to bring more youthful eyes to the game. Throughout this article, I will guide you on which influencer would be best suited for you.

The OGs

Rick Shiels, who has been coined "The Godfather of YouTube Golf", is one of the original channels on YouTube and has amassed over three million subscribers. As one of the first influencers to hit the scene, Schiels can be found reviewing equipment and inviting pros and other YouTubers to his channel for challenges. He also has several videos on swing tutorials so if you are new to the game then this would be a great place to start.

Shiels, who was born in the United Kingdom, joined the YouTube game early on with fellow Englishman Peter Finch. He joined the scene in 2011 and has gained over 800,000 subscribers. Similar to Schiels, Finch focuses on course vlogs, one-on-one matches with pros and amateurs, and swing advice.

The Good Golf/Golfers Channels

Golf professional and major winner, Bryson DeChambeau has one of the biggest golf followings on YouTube with over 2.6 million subscribers. DeChambeau's 'Breaking 50' series is one of the most well-known on the internet. He has hosted some very well-known athletes, such as Tom Brady and Stephen Curry, along with Adam Sandler, and many other fellow golf influencers. DeChambeau is known to be quite eccentric when it comes to some of his approaches to the game, but he is one of the most popular and polarizing names in professional golf today.

The Good Good golfers makes up some of the best amateurs and has seen several original members start their own individual channels as well. Garrett Clark is the co-founder and primary creator of this channel currently and has overseen over two million current subscribers. This young group of golfers has a good amount of talent and brings a lot of energy and flair to their videos. The brand has also contributed to the development of the Good Good Girls channel, which aims to engage and inspire a younger female audience to participate in the game.

The Bryan Bros Golf channel features two brothers, Wesley and George. Wesley, who was a former PGA tour player, started his YouTube journey by doing trick golf shots with his brother. Both Bryan brothers are extremely capable golfers while also being very competitive, which makes for some funny moments. George is generally positive, while Wesley is quick with a chirp, and both know how to provoke one another.

The Entertainment Channels

Grant Horvat left the Good Good channel in 2022 to pursue his own channel. Since then, he has gained over 1.6 million subscribers. Horvat, who has been dubbed "The Golden Boy of YouTube Golf", has often been seen paired with Phil Mickelson in many of his videos. Horvat is also a very good golfer who has won a Creator Classic, which was a tournament that included a lot of the top golf influencers in the game. Many of his videos are lighthearted and fun especially when he is collaborating with Robby Berger.

Berger is the founder of Bob Does Sports (my personal favorite). This channel features Berger (Bobby Fairways), Joseph Demare (Joey Cold Cuts), and Nick Stubbe (Fat Perez). This channel has amassed over 1.4 million subscribers since 2021. This channel is not for the golf purists, as Perez seems to be the only one who knows what to do with a golf club. This group has exploded onto the scene as they recently had LeBron James on their channel.

The food and drink challenges helped this group to gain popularity, as we have seen Jon Rahm participate in a taco and donut eating challenge. Bob and company have done a great job at getting some of the professional golfers to break out of their shells and to show some personality. Joey Cold Cuts and his meltdowns on the course have also helped to gain this group a loyal following. If you are looking for some lighthearted content to watch with some occasional good golf shots, then Bob is for you.

Internet Invitational

The Internet Invitational was a golf tournament hosted by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports. It gathered 48 creators to compete in a tournament for a one-million-dollar prize. This tournament took place over six episodes on YouTube and totaled over 25 million views combined.

Good Good's Brad Dalke, along with Cody Franke and Francis Ellis, won the tournament and split the prize money. There was a good amount of drama as well as some great golf played in this tournament, and it has been confirmed that there will be another tournament in 2026.

The world of YouTube golf is experiencing rapid growth, with content that truly offers something for everyone. Overall, it is a place to find fun and engaging content to help grow the sport.
