The LPGA Tour is set to tee off for its 75th season this weekend. The first tournament of the year is the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament. It is taking place at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, FL.

The country club has a long and rich history of hosting both LPGA and PGA Tour events. The course is set against the backdrop of freshwater lakes and pine and cypress trees.

The course has a length of over 7,000 yards and a slope rating of 138. For example, hole 13, is a par 3 set in front of both one of the lakes and overlooks both types of trees.

The course has been home to qualifying events for both the men's and women's US Opens. For the LPGA Tour, it hosted the qualifier in 1993. For the PGA Tour, it hosted the men's qualifier in 1993, 2003, and 2009.

It has been home to the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament since 2022. In the last two years, the course has seen two LPGA legends win on its final hole with Brooke Henderson winning in 2023 and Lydia Ko winning last season.

Lake Nona Golf Course was ranked as one of the top 100 courses.

The tournament hosts several celebrities in addition to the LPGA Tour's biggest stars. Some celebrities include NFL Hall of Famer, Charles Woodson and actors Don Cheadle and Alfonso Ribeiro.

Ribeiro recently commented on the event and the course and hospitality displayed. He told Forbes, "All the concerts and special events at the tournament are bigger than other events we get to play in."

"The LPGA players are absolutely accessible. You can walk up to them, and if you’re passing them in the clubhouse, they are open to talking and giving you a moment.” Ribeiro added, “At the Tournament of Champions, you’re going to get as close as you can to any athlete or any professional golf player.”

The city of Orlando has slowly become more of a mainstay in the sports world. In addition to the Orlando Magic of the NBA, the Orlando Pride of the NWSL has also begun to attract a wider audience and more fans to the city.

Lake Nona Golf Course should be a mainstay for the LPGA Tour for years to come as the kickoff venue for 2025 and beyond.
