At long last, The Masters has arrived, and there is certainly no shortage of storylines at Augusta National this week.

Can defending champion Scottie Scheffler continue to make history by winning a third green jacket in a four-year span, a feat that would see him join the great Jack Nicklaus?

Or is it finally Rory McIlroy's time to become a Masters champion and, in the process, complete the historic career Grand Slam?

While all eyes will understandably be on the likes of Scheffler, McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Jordan Spieth, and plenty of others, one of the many great aspects of a magical event like The Masters is the potential for new stars to emerge.

Here is a look at five emerging talents who could make a name for themselves at the 2025 Masters.

5. Akshay Bhatia

While 23-year-old Akshay Bhatia may have made his official debut at The Masters last year, he is no stranger to competition at Augusta National.

At the age of 12, Bhatia competed in the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals at Augusta. A decade later, he made history by becoming the first player to go from that prestigious event to competing in The Masters itself.

Akshay booked a return to Augusta National last year after notching his second PGA Tour win at the Valero Texas Open and went on to finish in a tie for 35th place in his Masters debut.

Fast forward to this year, and Bhatia heads into his second appearance playing some excellent golf with three top-10s in his last five starts, including an impressive T3 finish at The Players Championship last month.

While it would be surprising to see the California native win The Masters in just his second start, there is no denying he has the talent to become a major champion.

One of the more accurate players off the tee, Bhatia has also been exceptional with the putter this season, ranking 23rd on the PGA Tour in overall putting average. Combine that hot putter with his usually exceptional ball striking, and Akshay could find himself in the mix come Sunday.

4. Min Woo Lee

Australian Min Woo Lee is already a social media star, and now he heads into The Masters as a PGA Tour winner. Fresh off his victory at the Texas Children's Houston Open, the 26-year-old is set for his fourth appearance at Augusta National.

Lee has finished in the top 25 in two of his previous three starts at The Masters, and, like Bhatia, he has been playing some great golf in 2025, with a win and five additional top-20 finishes.

He absolutely crushes the ball off the tee, and while his first PGA Tour win came in his last start, he is certainly no stranger to winning, with five worldwide wins under his belt. If Lee gets hot with his approach play this week, look out.

3. Tom Kim

Tom Kim burst onto the scene with a win at the Wyndham Championship in 2022 for his first PGA Tour win.

Since then, the 22-year-old has represented the International Team in two Presidents Cups, competed in the Olympics, and has added another two PGA Tour wins to his resume, becoming the youngest player since Tiger Woods to win three times.

Ths year mark Kim's third appearance at The Masters after finishes of T16 in his debut in 2023 and T30 last year.

While he's had mixed results thus far in 2025, he did finish in a tie for seventh at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. A runner-up at The Open Championship, the South Korean undoubtedly has the talent to contend in majors when clicking on all cylinders.

2. Joaquín Niemann

Joaquín Niemann returns to The Masters still in search of his first top-10 finish in a major championship.

While the talented Chilean has yet to leave his mark on the major stage, it seems it's only a matter of time before the breakthrough comes.

The 26-year-old's best result in a major came two years ago at The Masters when he tied for 16th. He's set for his fifth consecutive start at Augusta and has made the cut in each of his four previous appearances.

A two-time winner on the PGA Tour, including in a loaded field at the 2022 Genesis Invitational, Niemann has been in scorching form for LIV Golf this season, with two wins in five starts.

Wins at Adelaide and Singapore saw his win total climb to an impressive six worldwide since December 2023.

He ranks among the best in just about every statistical category in the Saudi-backed series this season, and with the form he's in and his solid history at Augusta National, it wouldn't be a total shock if Niemann's run at a major title came in the year's first.

1. Ludvig Åberg

The most obvious name on the list is the last.

The immensely talented Ludvig Åberg is already a massive star with the amount of success he has already had at the young age of 25. Ryder Cup. Check. Runner-up in The Masters in his debut a year ago. Check.

Åberg returns to The Masters for a second time after notching the biggest win of his career to date earlier this season at the Genesis Invitational. The first player to have earned his PGA Tour card via the PGA Tour University program, the talented Swede has already won three times around the world since turning professional in 2023.

While he continues to dominate off the tee, the world No. 5 will need the rest of his game to come along, something which has been inconsistent at times this season, if he hopes to repeat last year's feat or take the next step at The Masters.

The talent is clearly there, so it's not a matter of if, but when for Åberg in the majors.
