In a year that saw an increase in the popularity of women's sports, one player on the LPGA Tour may have stood out among the rest. Nelly Korda had a season for the ages in 2024.

The 26-year-old won seven times on tour and recorded 11 top 10s on the year. She also went 3-1 at the Solheim Cup, helping the United States team secure victory. It was a record-breaking season and one that puts Korda amongst the all-time greats.

She began the season by winning 5 tournaments in a row. A record only matched by Annika Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez. Her fifth victory in that span came at the 2024 Chevron Championship.

The Chevron Championship was Korda's second major title of her career. She won the major by two strokes over Maja Stark. She had previously won the Women's PGA Championship in 2021.

Her sixth victory occurred in May after she shot 14-under par to win at the Mizuho Americas Open. Korda's profile continued to rise throughout the year.

She attended the Met Gala for the first time in early May and also was featured in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition for the first time in her career in November.

Nelly Korda notched her 7th win of the year in November at The ANNIKA

"Nothing like being in the hunt, the adrenaline feeling on the back nine, and being in contention. I love it so much," said Korda about competing in the tournament.

She was named the LPGA Tour Player of the Year and was the recipient of the Rolex Annika Major Award. Her seven wins put her at 15 now for her career, which is a tie for 37th on the all-time wins list in tour history.

More importantly, Korda's performance has helped raise the profile of the LPGA and women's sports as a whole. Before her seventh victory at The Annika, she competed in the Pro-Am.

She competed alongside and played the first nine holes with superstar basketball player Caitlin Clark. It was an important moment for women's sports as two of its most important stars took center stage.

Korda joins Clark, NWSL's Bethany Balcer, and WNBA players Lexie Hull and Sabrina Ionescu as women who can change the landscape of how we view and watch women's sports in the United States.

What made Korda's 2024 even more remarkable was the star was dealing with both migraine and back issues throughout the year. Could a now fully healthy Nelly Korda possibly eclipse her seven wins from last season in 2025? Whatever comes next, it will be exciting to watch one of sports' biggest stars moving forward.
