This weekend the top 60 players in the world will compete at the CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida. They will not only be competing for the tour title, but also a large sum of prize money.

Nelly Korda should be the odds-on favorite after her 2024 campaign. She won the Annika driven by Gainbridge a week ago for her seventh win this season. If she does win the Tour Championship, she will earn a prize of 4 million dollars.

The runner-up for the tournament will also take home a large sum. They will receive a check of 1 million dollars for their second-place finish. Each player in the top 12 will take home at least $100,000 on the weekend. Those between 13th and 25th place will garner a sum of at least $75,000.

From 1 to 60, each player will make money for qualifying for the CME Group Tour Championship.

The 60th-place finisher will take home a prize of 55,000 dollars. This season, Korda became just the third player to make over 4 million dollars in a calendar year. If any player currently ranked in the top 30 before the tournament begins wins on Sunday, they will eclipse $4 million on the year.

They will eclipse the $4 million total since each of them earned over 1 million dollars in prize money during the 2024 season. Notable players who have eclipsed the $1 million mark are, Lydia Ko and Lauren Coughlin. Coughlin has had a career year winning twice in 2024. Arguably her best season since she first turned professional back in 2018.

If Ko is able to take home the Tour Championship, she would be the first player to eclipse $4 million in two separate seasons. During the 2022 season, the New Zealand golfer made $4.36 million. If she does win, it would cap a remarkable season that saw Ko capture the Tour Championship, in addition to an Olympic Gold Medal in Paris, and the Women's British Open.

The total prize money for the year has gone up in the last few seasons which signifies higher interest in the sport. The total prize money for this season's championship is $118 million. It was at $101.3 million in 2023 and $86 million in 2022.

As the top 60 compete this weekend, they will also be looking towards continuing to grow the sport in 2025. With rising stars such as Nelly Korda, this weekend should show a high display of talent as they compete in the final tournament of the year.
