9. Greyson Sigg
With back-to-back top 20s at the Mexico Open, Greyson Sigg performs well on paspalum grass, and has throughout his career on Tour. On top of this, Sigg finished T9 at Farmers earlier this year, which bodes well for Sigg since Torrey and Vidanta are very similar golf courses to one another. A big thing that'll help Sigg this week is his approach game, as he's top 30 on Tour this year in average proximity in approaches from over 200 yards, where a lot of approaches on the behemoth that is Vidanta Vallarta will occur from (playing at almost 7,500 yards this week). Keep an eye on Sigg this week, a breakthrough from him wouldn't surprise me at all.
8. Sam Stevens
Yes, Sam Stevens has cooled off some since his solo 2nd place finish at Farmers earlier this year, including a T31 this week at Genesis (admittedly, he was going up against a much stronger field this past week than at Farmers). However, I think Stevens should continue to have a solid year, and he's performed well at both Puntacana and Puerto Rico in the past, so he clearly has some sort of feel for the paspalum in his game. Maybe if he plays well this week, DataGolf will change his name from Samuel Stevens to just Sam Stevens and make searching up his page much easier than it currently is.
7. Alex Smalley
Alex Smalley has only appeared in my rankings before as an honorable mention, and boy was I right to have him in there for Phoenix, so congratulations to Alex Smalley on his graduation to the full rankings this week. Smalley has had a strong start to this season, with 3 top 25s in 4 starts in 2025 so far. With some of his strongest finishes in his career coming in tournaments on paspalum grass (including a T6 at Vidanta Vallarta in 2022), Smalley should be able to perform well this week.
