4) Patrick Cantlay

The BMW Championship king comes to Denver in impressive form.

After an uncharacteristically quiet start to the season, he has four consecutive finishes inside the top 25, headlined by a T3 at the US Open. Cantlay has had a lot on his plate with his role on the Tour's Player Director Board, but it seems as if that dust has settled. For now.

Cantlay is another player who has shown a certain comfort level playing at high altitudes, so it should not present too much of a challenge this week.

His fondness of Nicklaus courses cannot be understated, as he has won twice at Muirfield Village in his career.

He has won two of the past three BMW Championships. All signs point to a successful week for the 32-year-old.

3) Collin Morikawa

Some might consider this a bit too rich for Morikawa, especially considering he lost strokes on approach shots last week. But that was just the first time since late April that his irons faltered; it's rare for Morikawa to have two straight subpar ball-striking weeks.

Even with the poor performance, he managed to scrape out a T22. His putter was excellent last week, and that has long been the question mark for the American.

Also of note is that Morikawa is a member of The Summit Club in Nevada which sits at an elevation of 3,000 feet. That exposure to altitude could be what puts him over the top this week.

His game has been peaking since The Masters in April, and the BMW Championship is an excellent opportunity to pick up his first win of the season.
