Harris English. 2024Colonial/PowerRank/7. 7. OWGR: 45th. FedEx Cup: 27th

Harris English falls in the wheelhouse of solid recent form paired with good course history.

Starting with his play in 2024, the 34-year-old owns two top-10s and nine top-30s in 13 starts on the PGA Tour.

English performed well at last week’s PGA Championship, taking T-18th at Valhalla. He’s finished worse than T-34th just once in his previous nine starts.

Moving on to the Charles Schwab Challenge, English is making his ninth appearance at Colonial.

He peaked in 2016 when 67-69-64-66 earned him solo second. Only local boy Jordan Spieth did better in a three-shot victory.

That was his second top-10 joining T-5th (65-70-73-67) in his 2012 debut. English was T-12th (65-66-70-76) last year and handled the firm conditions well through three rounds.

“I like it when it plays tough. The rough's up. If you hit it in the rough, it's going to be a hard time getting within 30, 40 feet of the flag,” English was transcribed in 2023 by ASAP Sports. “So it really identifies who's in control of the ball and who's playing some good golf.”

The former Georgia Bulldog ranks 25th on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Total (.782). His putter is doing the heavy lifting, coming in at sixth in SG (.621).

English is also a fairway finder, which is useful this week in Fort Worth. He’s 19th in driving accuracy (69.72%).

English is about tour average as far as distance goes, which is just fine at this short layout.
