2024 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches: Top 10 power rankings at PGA National
Rickie Fowler is part of the Jupiter contingent that has the easy trek to Palm Beach Gardens this week.
Though he skipped the Cognizant Classic last year, this PGA Tour stop has been a staple on his schedule over the years.
The highlight of his 13 years at PGA National was his win in 2017. Fowler carded rounds of 66-66-65-71 to roll to a four-shot victory over Gary Woodland and former Oklahoma State teammate Morgan Hoffmann.
Fowler owns four top-10s at this event, including T-2nd (67-72-66-67) in 2019 where he finished tied with Brooks Koepka and a shot behind Keith Mitchell. His last result was T-42nd (72-70-70-71) in 2022.
“Yeah, it's definitely nice to be back here,” Fowler was transcribed by ASAP Sports in 2018. “This is a golf course I love to play, especially on days like this. It's a tough golf course without wind, and when it picks up, it's even more so. I feel like it's a place that it demands your full attention at all times. There's never really a pushover shot. Yet, like I said, demands your full attention.”
Fowler comes to Florida off of a week of rest following T-35th at the Genesis Invitational. It’s been a bit of a tough West Coast swing for Rick, who seems to play some of his better golf on Bermuda grass in other parts of the country.
Fowler ranked No. 12 last season on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Total (1.426). He was 11th in SG: Off-the-Tee (1.136) and seventh in SG: Approach (.74).
