2024 Farmers Insurance Open Power Rankings: Top Ten at Torrey Pines

Now that we have the low-scoring American Express event in our rearview mirror, let's shift our focus to one of the most respected tournaments on the schedule, the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open.

The field will undoubtedly face a much stiffer test at Torrey Pines as a field of 156 golfers will vie to win the coveted winner's trophy.

Here are my top ten golfers in Power Rankings for the Farmers Insurance Open.

1) Xander Schauffele

The talented American arrives at this week's event in rather good form. Schauffele has accumulated two consecutive top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at last week's 2024 American Express.

2) Sungjae Im

Since the beginning of August, Sungjae Im has played seven tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those seven events just noted, Im accumulated four top-12 finishes, including a fifth-place result at the 2024 Sentry earlier this month. Additionally, Sungjae Im finished fourth at the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open.

3) Max Homa

Max Homa has accumulated an impressive six top-10 finishes in his last seven events played (DP World and PGA Tour combined), including a win at the 2023 Nedbank Challenge. Max Homa finished ninth at the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open.

4) Jason Day

Three weeks ago, Jason Day fired a first-round 65 at the 2024 Sentry en route to an eventual tenth-place finish. Day also has an exceptional record at this event. More specifically, Jason Day has won the Farmers Insurance Open two times in his career (2014, 2018).

5) Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa has accumulated four top-13 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2023 ZOZO Championship in October.

6) Patrick Cantlay

Yes, I know that Patrick Cantlay has not fared well at this event in his career. I also know that the man is a much better golfer now than he was when he last played this tournament in 2018. Cantlay also loves playing competitive golf in his home state of California. Cantlay should post a quality result at Torrey Pines.

7) Tony Finau

Tony Finau certainly checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Since 2016, Tony Finau has played the Farmers Insurance Open eight times. In those eight events just noted, Finau has accumulated seven top-24 finishes, including a second-place result in 2021.

8) Ludvig Aberg

Since the beginning of October, Ludvig Aberg has played six tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those six events just noted, Aberg has accumulated four top-13 finishes, including a win at the 2023 RSM Classic.

9) Keegan Bradley

The 2014 PGA Championship winner has accumulated two top-19 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2024 Sony Open two weeks ago.

10) Min Woo Lee

Min Woo Lee has accumulated two consecutive top-21 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a sixth-place result at the 2023 ZOZO Championship.
