6) Patrick Cantlay

Long cemented as one of the most consistent players on tour, Cantlay was uncharacteristically out of form prior to a much-needed T3 at the RBC Heritage.

Perhaps his slow start can be attributed to his role on the Tour's Player Director Board.

Whatever the reason may be, his recent play is reminiscent of the Cantlay we've grown accustomed to, with two top-fives in his last three starts. In that stretch, his irons have started to come alive again.

There is also sure to be a sour taste in his mouth following last year's playoff defeat to Lucas Glover at this event.

Oh, and his best friend Xander Schauffele grabbed two major championships while Cantlay was slumping. Not to say the clock is ticking for the 32-year-old, but he is due to make some noise. Why not this week?

5) Tommy Fleetwood

"There’s part of me that’s disappointing, of course, but at the same time, I never dreamt that I would be an Olympic medalist,” Tommy Fleetwood said following his silver medal at The Olympics.

A gold medal would have been Fleetwood's most significant win in his career. But Scottie Scheffler and Fleetwood were on a collision course on the back-nine, with Scheffler being the immovable object.

His ball-striking numbers have been exceptional, and TPC Southwind is a track that accentuates his accuracy off the tee and with his irons. A T3 last year evidences that.

A win in the States is coming for Tommy Lad; it is not merely false hope. In golf, there is due and there is overdue. Fleetwood is the latter.
