2024 John Deere Classic: Top 10 power rankings at TPC Deere Run
This was around the time last year when Lucas Glover began his incredible heater.
A T-6th (69-65-66-68) at the John Deere Classic came a week after T-4th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. That ignited some of his best golf since winning the U.S. Open more than a decade prior.
Glover added another top-five at the Barbasol Championship after the Deere and won back-to-back titles at the Wyndham Championship and FedEx St. Jude Championship.
That stretch of golf nearly vaulted the 40-something from an afterthought onto the American Ryder Cup team.
Glover hasn’t played poorly in 2024, but his late 2023 run proved to be a bit of an anomaly. The Clemson alum has yet to register a top 10 this season. With that said, he’s got a solo 11th at the Valspar Championship highlighting six top-30s.
Glover comes in rested following a T-44th two weeks ago at the Travelers Championship.
TPC Deere Run has treated him well over the years. One of his six career PGA Tour trophies came here in 2021. It was an emotional win as it was his first in 10 years.
The gloveless Glover won by two with scores of 68-63-70-64.
For his career in Silvis, Glover has made eight cuts in 13 tries with five top-25s.

Glover is 13th on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Approach (.505). Strong iron play is crucial at this event to be able to knock it close and stack birdies. So is finding the fairway. Glover ranks fourth at that skill (74.81%).
