2024Memorial/PowerRank/8. 8. OWGR: 4th. FedEx Cup: 4th. Wyndham Clark

After winning the U.S. Open last year, it seemed feasible that the floodgates would be open for Wyndham Clark at the majors.

2024 has been disappointing in that regard as he’s missed the cut at both, including in his last start at the PGA Championship. A bomber-friendly venue like Valhalla seemed up his alley, but alas.

A couple weeks off since then should have him ready to get back to the form that’s ascended him into a top-five world ranking.

Look no further than three starts ago at the RBC Heritage. He showed well at a venue that does not play into his strengths, posting T-3rd. It joins a pair of second-place finishes and his win at Pebble Beach in 2024.

Clark now arrives to Muirfield Village for the fifth time. He’s gradually improved at Jack’s Place, shaking off a couple MC’s in 2020 and 2021 to post T-37th (68-76-73-73) in 2022 and T-12th (70-71-70-76) last year.

The former Oregon Duck was comfortable on the greens ranking 15th in the field in Strokes Gained: Putting (.87) and with his irons at 17th in SG: Approach (.79).

On the season, he ranks sixth in SG: Total (1.238), 14th in SG: Putting (.53), 17th in SG: Off-the-Tee (.486), and 25th in SG: Tee-to-Green (.708).

Clark is fourth in driving distance (313.7 yards).

He’s got the frame and strength to muscle it out of the rough, which ironically might be longer this week than next week at the U.S. Open hosted at short grass-laden Pinehurst No. 2.

Clark is 35th in average proximity from the rough (43’1”).
