OWGR: 10th. Best Open Championship finish: T-2nd (2023). Jon Rahm. 2024BritishOpen/PowerRank/8. 8

Jon Rahm has yet to win since joining LIV, yet he’s third in the 48-player individual standings. The Spaniard’s been a top-10 machine, including last week in his home country. He took 10th place at LIV Andalucia. That’s not a bad result for a bomber like him at the tight confines of Valderrama.

A few weeks prior, Rahm took third at LIV Nashville. It was odd to see him competing, let alone play well, the week after the U.S. Open where he withdrew pre-tournament due to an infection on his toes on his left foot.

It seems as that issue’s now put to bed.

The former Arizona State Sun Devil is looking to salvage a disappointing major championship season. Rahm settled for T-45th in his title defense at the Masters and missed the cut at the PGA Championship.

He’s back at Royal Troon for the second time. Rahm in 2016 took T-59th, carding 74-71-73-75 in his Open Championship debut and first year as a pro.

He’s 6-for-7 making the cut at the Open, including T-3rd in 2021 at Royal St. George’s and a distant T-2nd last year at Royal Liverpool.

Rahm leads LIV this season in birdies per round (5.14) and greens in regulation (73.41%). He’s also sixth in putting average (1.56 per GIR), sixth in driving distance (316.1 yards), and 10th in scrambling (65.67%).

Rahmbo’s due to break out and win again one of these days. It sure would be something if he did so by earning the third leg of the career Grand Slam in the process.
