Two years after Team USA lifted the trophy at Quail Hollow, the Presidents Cup returns for its fifteenth edition, this time on foreign soil. Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec, Canada, will host the famous competition for a second time in 2024; seventeen years after the U.S. won here under the captaincy of the great Jack Nicklaus. Jim Furyk will have the opportunity to follow in those footsteps this week as he captains a U.S. squad looking to capture the cup for an incredible thirteenth time.

Canada's Mike Weir has been tasked with leading the International side to what would be a famous victory over the United States in a competition that has been historically dominated by the Stars and Stripes. Only once in fourteen previous editions has the International Team defeated the U.S., that came back in 1998 at Royal Melbourne in Australia and Weir will hope that home support in 2024 can help inspire another famous triumph for his side in the Presidents Cup.

The stage is set for the 15th playing of the Presidents Cup, here is a look at all of the information to know including the format, schedule, teams, and how to watch ahead of this week's clash at the historic Royal Montreal Golf Club.

Presidents Cup format, schedule in 2024

First played in 1994 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia, the Presidents Cup match-play competition returns in 2024 for its fifteenth edition. Four days of competition will take place between the United States and International Teams at Royal Montreal, beginning with Four-ball on day one and concluding with twelve singles matches that will help decide this year's Presidents Cup. In all, 30 matches between the two 12-man teams will take place across five sessions with each team looking to accumulate the fifteen-and-a-half points required to lift this year's cup.

Four-ball

Four-ball, also known as Best-ball, will be played on days one and three of this year's Presidents Cup. Both the United States and International Teams will send out five teams of two players to square off in five different matches on day one, and four in session three. Players will play their own golf balls and record the best score amongst the two of them on each hole, the team with the lowest score wins the hole.

Foursomes

Foursomes, also referred to as alternate shot, is the more difficult format of the two as each team of two players will use just one golf ball alternating shots as the name suggests. Players will decide amongst themselves which player tees off on both even and odd-numbered holes. Whichever team records the lowest score wins the hole. Foursomes is scheduled to take place on days two and three of this year's competition with five matches between each team on day two and four matches on day three.
