2024CanadianOpen/PowerRank/3. 3. OWGR: 12th. FedEx Cup: 5th. Sahith Theegala

Sahith Theegala might be the best player on the PGA Tour this season without a win.

The one-time career champion is trending toward winning his second. He owns five top-10s in 13 starts, including solo seconds at The Sentry and RBC Heritage.

Theegala is still relatively unproven at the majors, but he was in the mix for a good chunk of the PGA Championship, where he went on to finish T-12th in his most recent start.

Despite the disappointing finish, Theegala is thankful he’s still playing. He dislocated a rib less than a week before the Wells Fargo Championship where he limped to T-52nd.

Theegala’s upward trend at Valhalla should indicate he’s in much better condition.

The 26-year-old American is competing at Hamilton for the first time and for the third time at the RBC Canadian Open. Theegala is 2-for-2 making the cut.

On the season, the Pepperdine alum ranks fifth on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Total (1.338). Only Scottie Scheffler (2.842), Xander Schauffele (2.265), Rory McIlroy (1.547) and, you guessed it, Alex Noren (1.382) are higher.

Theegala would love to tidy up his short game, but all other facets are clicking. His putter has saved him plenty, ranking fifth in SG (.686). Theegala is also 31st in SG: Tee-to-Green (.653).

He’s already primed to be somewhat of a dark horse favorite in a couple weeks when the U.S. Open heads to Pinehurst. A win this week would help fan the flames.
