The PGA Tour is back in Houston after a year away.

Recent schedule shakeups left Houston by the wayside in 2023. However, the tournament likely doesn’t mind biting that bullet to move to a more favorable spot on the schedule.

No longer is this a fall event; it’s right in the heart of the pre-Masters build-up. The Texas Children’s Houston Open is not a Signature Event to attract all the stars to Memorial Park, but there’s a collection of recognizable names teeing it up this week.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headlines a field that includes four top-25 players based on the March 18 edition of the Official World Golf Ranking.

Memorial Park is a public golf course that gets a lot of play throughout the year. It’s nestled right in the heart of downtown Houston and is a nice change of pace from the elite clubs and resort courses the PGA Tour regularly frequents.

The course underwent significant renovation prior to hosting this event for the first time in 2020. It was led by Tom Doak and, ironically, Brooks Koepka, a LIV player who is not permitted to play this event anymore.

Memorial Park is a par 72 measuring 7,432 yards. Fairways are relatively wide, but proper placement off the tee is useful to attack these undulating greens.

Bermuda grass is in play from tee to green.

It looks to be a windy week in Houston, but rain nor temperature should be a factor.

Without further delay, let’s take a look at this week’s power rankings:
