2024 Tour Championship: Top 5 power rankings at East Lake Golf Club

Golf and peaches -- the Tour reaches its final (and a familiar) destination this week in Atlanta. Players have battled all season for a spot in the Tour Championship, and now, only the top 30 remain.

4) Sam Burns (four-under)

Although he has been seen snapping drivers as of late (see below), Sam Burns has been on a tear.

A trio of T12-T5-T2 finishes is just what the doctor ordered as the Presidents Cup looms on the horizon.

Burns has cemented himself as one of the premier putters in the game, ranking 11th on Tour in strokes gained with the flatstick. According to Matt Vincenzi of GolfWRX, Burns ranks second in the field in Strokes Gained: Putting on fast, Bermuda greens in the past 24 rounds.

Similar to Wyndham Clark, Burns can rack up birdies in the blink of an eye. He will trail Scottie Scheffler by six strokes entering the tournament, so he will need that trusty putter to get hot early.

Burns has struggled to get it done on Sundays -- he has not won a stroke play tournament since 2022. Because of that, many in the golf world seem to overlook the American. It's time he shows the golf world just how lethal his game can be.

3) Scottie Scheffler (ten-under)

Scottie Scheffler, one of us?

Now Scottie Scheffler is certainly not one of us, but for the first time in what seems like forever, he came back down to earth.

The BMW Championship marked the first time in over two years that he lost strokes to the field overall, from tee to green, or on approach.

Many will give Scheffler a pass due to the altitude, but it has now been two straight subpar ball-striking performances (by his standards, of course).

Is it foolish not to give Scottie Scheffler a place in the top two spots? Maybe -- but he was chased down in 2022 by the guy sitting just above him at number two.
