Brian Harman has still yet to win since his romp at the 2023 Open Championship, but last week’s performance is further illustration his win at Royal Liverpool wasn’t exactly a fluke.

The diminutive leftie was in it ‘til the end last week at the Players Championship. He shook off a mediocre opening 72 to climb back into contention with 65-64-68. Harman’s a great putter and had to think he had a decent shot of sinking a 20-footer for birdie on the 72nd hole, but it was not to be.

“...it's one shot here, one shot there, but I played some great golf, especially the last three days, so I'm proud of that,” Harman was transcribed by ASAP Sports. “If you would have told me that I had a putt to force a playoff on 18 after the first day, I would have called you crazy. It sucks to be done playing golf now, but excited about the future.”

Harman struggled on the West Coast Swing. The Georgia boy has looked more like himself since the PGA Tour migrated closer to his neck of the woods.

Preceding the Players, Harman took T-12th at another Signature Event, the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The 37-year-old will be teeing it up at the Valspar Championship for the 10th time.

Harman’s made just three cuts at Innisbrook, though each has led to sizable paydays.

He took T-14th (67-70-72-71) in 2013, T-25th (71-70-73-71) in 2014, and T-5th (67-67-68-68) in 2022.

Harman ranks 13th on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Total (.993). He’s been rolling the rock beautifully, as evidenced by his 22nd ranking in SG: Putting (.511).

The Copperhead course can be frustrating at times. Harman is ninth in bounce-back percentage (33.33%).
