2024 Wyndham Championship: Top 10 power rankings at Sedgefield CC

After a week off due to the Olympics, the PGA Tour has its final regular season event in Greensboro, North Carolina, this week. This is the last chance for players to make their playoff push, and only the top 70 players will make the initial event in Memphis.

10) Victor Perez

"Victor, Victor, Victor," the crowd echoed at Le Golf National.

It was a special, special week for the Frenchman in Paris. A closing back-nine of 29 launched Perez up the leaderboard, but he came up just short of a podium appearance, finishing in fourth place.

It is fair to wonder how much he has left in the tank after that exhilarating finish, but it has to give him a surge of confidence coming back over to the States. And he is going to need it, as Perez sits squarely on the bubble of the FedEx Cup Playoffs at 71st place.

His form tends to waver, but his fourth-place finish at The Olympics marked his second top ten in the last three events. He will only go so far as his irons let him -- but his iron play last week should merit a vote of confidence. Perez will look to continue his strong form in Greensboro.

9) Ben Griffin

Griffin is my "sleeper pick" to contend this week at Sedgefield.

You may look at his recent form (MC-MC) and wonder how Griffin could make this list.

The answer? His putting on Bermuda greens. For whatever reason, Bermuda putting surfaces seem to suit Griffin's eye and stroke to a tee. Over the past 24 rounds, Griffin leads the field in strokes gained: putting on Bermuda greens by a wide margin. I am banking on his putter coming alive this week after losing strokes to the field in the previous three events.

Griffin is also one of the most consistent iron players on tour, gaining strokes on approach shots in his last eight starts.

Because of his below-average length, Griffin tends to struggle at long tracks. If he is to win on tour, these are the types of venues where it will happen. A fourth-place finish here in 2022 should inspire a ton of confidence for the UNC graduate. Perhaps a familiar environment could rekindle some of his mid-season form.
