2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans: Top 10 power rankings at TPC Louisiana
It was tough to decide on a team for the 10th slot. So, a pair of countrymen and former college teammates get the nod.
Canadians Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith are teaming up for the first time at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans
It’s not their first time together since turning pro in team golf.
Conners and Pendrith battled to a 1-down loss representing the International team at the Presidents Cup in a four-ball match with Billy Horschel and Max Homa.
Conners and Pendrith were together at Kent State, which has a knack for attracting some of Canada’s top talent.
Conners is teeing it up at the Zurich for the first time since 2019. He brings in modest form with top-50s in 10 of 11 starts this season, including five top-30s.
Conners took T-13th at the Players Championship and T-24th at a Signature Event, the Genesis Invitational.
The 32-year-old ranks fifth on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Approach (.798), 13th in SG: Tee-to-Green (1.025) and 23rd in SG: Off-the-Tee (.413).
Conners will hope to ham and egg it with Pendrith, who’s 22nd in SG: Putting (.538). Pendrith can bomb it out there, Conners can hit it close and Pendrith can roll it in. Simple as that, right?
Pendrith and countryman Michael Gligic got to 20-under (64-70-65-69) for T-13th at the 2023 Zurich.
Pendrith is looking to ride the momentum from a strong showing last year in Avondale, as well as from a T-11th last week at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
That was his third top-11 of the season to go with T-10th at the Sony Open in Hawaii and T-9th at the Farmers Insurance Open.
