2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans: Top 10 power rankings at TPC Louisiana
Nicolai Hojgaard is already making a name for himself on the PGA Tour. Twin brother, Rasmus, could follow suit soon.
The 23-year-old Danes can extradite the process if PGA Tour member Nicolai and DP World Tour member, Rasmus, can win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
It’s hard to beat the chemistry that these two will have this week.
A downside is this will be their first time playing TPC Louisiana.
The upside is they have the talent to overcome a lack of course knowledge.
Starting with Nicolai, he’s just a couple weeks removed from a T-6th finish at the Masters where he briefly led on Saturday. It hasn’t been completely smooth sailing as Nicolai adjusts to his first full year playing primarily in the U.S., but he’s shown flashes like taking solo second at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Nicolai started 2024 strong on the DP World Tour with T-25th and T-7th at a pair of high-profile events in Dubai.
Nicolai has experience with team golf as a member of the 2023 European Ryder Cup team.
He ranks 21st on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee (.474) and is 21st in driving distance (307.2 yards). It’ll be fun to see him let loose in four-ball.
While Nicolai is currently the better of the two, Rasmus got a taste of success on the DP World Tour first. He’s a four-time winner beginning in 2019 and as recently as last year’s Made in Himmerland Open.
Rasmus began the year with three top-10s on that circuit. A concern this week is we haven’t seen him since he withdrew from the Hero Indian Open in late March.
Rasmus can complement his brother’s ball striking by rolling the rock. He’s fifth on the DP World Tour in putts per round (28.98). Not to mention, he’s second in scoring average (69.6).
