The Tour Championship concluded a week ago with Scottie Scheffler taking home the title for the year. There are, however, many more tournaments to conclude 2024 on the PGA Tour. The first one will take place this weekend in Napa, California, at the Procore Championship. There are many golfers and storylines to follow at the tournament.

Theegala returns to the Procore Championship as the defending champion

1) Sahith Theegala looks to defend title - Theegala turned pro in 2022 and captured his first victory on tour at last season's tournament. He won last year by two strokes and will hope to take it home this season. He's coming off a third-place finish at the Tour Championship in his last start.

2) Corey Conners looks to continue the momentum ahead of the Presidents Cup - The 32-year-old Canadian golfer will be looking to gear up for the Presidents Cup in a few weeks' time. He made all four cuts at majors this year including a top 10 at the US Open. A strong finish at this week's Procore Championship should have him primed and ready for the upcoming duel with the Americans at Royal Montreal.

3) Max Homa's familiarity with the course - at Johnny Miller's North Course at Silverado Resort and Spa, Homa has performed exceptionally well at the venue. He's won the tournament twice (when it was called the Fortinet Championship) and has four top 10s in the tournament. He will be looking for his first win on tour this year.

The purse for the tournament is $6 million with the winner pocketing $1.08 million. It is an important tournament for the players involved. At a time when many will be looking towards next year, there is still plenty of golf yet to play in 2024. The field of 144 players will be looking to increase their positioning in the FedEx Cup Fall rankings as they jostle for crucial exemptions for 2025. A strong performance this week at the Procore Championship would give them great momentum going forward.
