3) Luke Clanton

Luke Clanton may not be a household name yet, but his time is coming.

Clanton, who was just a sophomore at Florida State this past year, will be playing this event as an amateur. This is just his fourth start on tour, but he has made the cut in every start, with two top tens and a runner-up to show for it.

This kid is legit good and resembles the wealth of talent that resides at the collegiate level.

According to Matt Vincenzi, a writer at GolfWRX, Clanton ranks 1st in the field in strokes gained: off the tee and 5th in the field in strokes gained: approach over the last 24 rounds. It is expected to be a bit of a birdie-fest, so the irons will need to be dialed in to set up birdie opportunities.

He may just be an amateur but do not be fooled by his inexperience; tour wins are in his future. Nick Dunlap proved it can be done when he outlasted PGA Tour veterans Justin Thomas and Sam Burns to win The American Express as an amateur. Dunlap also won the Barracuda Championship last week, so could we see two 20-year-olds win in back-to-back weeks?

Clanton is on a heater, and he very well may ride it to his first PGA Tour victory this week. Buy stock while you can.
